Mafia Call
Rulebook

Mafia for groups already on a video call or a live stream. Your phone holds your secret role and your ballot. A shared board narrates the game, so nobody has to moderate.

Play now See the roles

Setup

  1. 1 · HostOne person opens the site and taps Host a new game. That opens the board. Share that screen on the call, with computer sound on, so everyone hears the narrator.
  2. 2 · JoinEveryone else opens the link or room code shown on the board and signs in with a nickname. You need 4–30 players.
  3. 3 · Read your partPress and hold the card on your phone to read your secret role. Don't let anyone see your screen.

Only a few people? The host can turn on Test mode to fill the empty seats with bots. A TEST MODE banner then shows on every screen.

Night

Cameras and mics off. Every living player taps a name on their phone, every night, including night 1. The night always runs its full 45 seconds.

Why everyone taps: on a call, whoever is busy on their phone at night would give their role away. So villagers make a pick too (who they suspect), and every phone looks exactly the same. Hold Hold for your cue to read what your own pick does tonight.

Day

  1. Dawn12s
The board announces who died and, if the host's setting is on, their role. A Still standing count shows how many of each role are alive.
  2. Discuss2 min
Cameras on. Accuse, defend, bluff, all on the call.
  3. Nominate30s
Nominate someone on your phone. Anyone with 2 nominations goes on trial, up to 3 players.
  4. Vote20s
Vote for someone on trial, or abstain. Whoever gets the most votes is out. If the top spot is tied, nobody is eliminated.
  5. Verdict25s
Ballots are revealed one by one on the board. The eliminated player gets last words.

Dead players are ghosts. Stay silent on the call (and on stream). Ghosts don't see anyone else's role. Everything is revealed at the end.

The roles

Mafia · team

Mafia

Each night, agree with your crew on someone to kill. Whisper with them in Notes. By day, blend in.

Werewolves · rival gang

Werewolf

A separate pack with its own kill and its own chat. Werewolves don't know who the Mafia are. Outlast everyone to win.

Yakuza · rival gang

Yakuza

A third crime family that kills, plots and wins alone.

Alone

Serial Killer

Kills one player each night. Wins by being the last one standing.

Cult · team

Cultist

Each night the cult picks someone to convert; it happens silently. Killers can't be converted. The cult wins when everyone alive has joined.

Town

Doctor

Protect one player each night from any attack, yourself included, but not the same player two nights in a row.

Town

Detective

Investigate one player each night. At dawn you privately learn their side: innocent, Mafia, Werewolf, Yakuza, Cult or Serial Killer.

Town

Cult Hunter

Hunt one player each night: if they're a Cultist, they die. If the cult ever goes after you, its newest member dies instead.

Town

Cupid

On night 1, whoever you pick falls in love with you. Lovers learn each other's names, not roles. If one dies, so does the other. Lovers win together if they're the last two standing, or alongside the winning side.

Alone

Tanner

Hates life. Wins, alone, if the town votes them out, and everyone else loses. Reads as innocent to the Detective.

Town

Villager

No power. Find the killers and vote them out. At night, pick who you suspect.

Who's in the game

Roles are added as the room grows. Everyone left over is a Villager.
